Little Ustaad’s is an initiative by Ms.Anjali Kaura to inculcate and pass on her musical legacy to the younger generation. The institute has been educating the children about the essence of traditional classical music with the Raag based approach to consolidate the basics. Herself a Masters in Vocal Music, Ms. Anjali has been running the show at Little Ustaad’s with some highly talented “Ustaads” of instrumental and semi-classical music. The story of Little Ustaad’s has been inspired a legacy from the parental guidance and teachings which in the words of Ms. Anjali are, “the most precious gifts which I can pass on to the younger generation which is to let them know the purity of music in a way which will indulge them creatively”. She very humbly shared, “My father is an artist of Mouth Organ and my mom is an avid music educator and I have inherited my passion from them”.

The offerings by Little Ustaad’s go beyond just learning an instrument and gaining basics. At the institute, the approach used for teaching is to impart the basic knowledge of classical and semi-classical music along with the skills of playing certain instruments like Dholki, Drums and Keyboard. The idea is to allow students to develop and initiate their own imagination and create new tunes which the experts help in consolidating with their virtuosity. At Little Ustaad’s, Ms.Anjali along with other music experts prepare students for higher level examinations and competitions affiliated under the esteemed Allahabad University to pursue a diploma course of 4 years in Music. The classes involve full participation and involvement of the students in the form of light Bollywood singing with a classical touch accompanied by curative instruments.

She has been teaching since the past five years to students of 8 years onwards and even to adults from non-musical backgrounds. Students from schools, esteemed universities across the tricity, including PEC, UIET extending to entrepreneurs and life coaches have been learning the skills of music from Little Ustaad’s. Along with the students, Ms. Anjali has aimed to involve parents in the process as well. For this, annual functions, various musical drives in PGI and shows at auditoriums in tricity have been organized to showcase the skills of students at Little Ustaad’s. This encourages the students to perform at higher levels and practice their skills to perfection.
