Arta STUDIO - "Kids Center for Art, Music, Creativity, Reading and Compassion"
Children are like delicate saplings in the garden who will become the strong and firm trees of the future. These saplings need to be very well dealt with care, love and guidance. The grooming of a child is as necessary as the education and enables the child to become a strong and courageous adult.
Tutortot is here to cover all the best places for the development of children and thereby we cover the Awesome Art centre for your child -The Arta Studio. It was established in 1990 by Late Sh. Sunirmal Chatterjee, for children of Age group 5-18 years with a highly affordable costing, it was closed after he passed away. His daughter Ms. Shakuntala Chatterjee, Vice principal , DAV group of schools is reviving it with a lot of love in her heart. It was a pleasure to meet the soft spoken, intelligent and compassionate Ms Chatterjee. Apart from regular classes, she welcomes underpriviled kids to explore Art free of cost. When we visited, It was an absolute delight to see an Art teacher teaching kids who otherwise may not get this opportunity.

The Legacy of the Past
The motto of Arta STUDIO is to “Cultivate the Creativity” in the young generation . The legacy of Sh. Sunirmal Chatterjee managed by. Ms. Shakuntala Chatterjee has over 30 years of experience in teaching and counselling kids and is an amazing poet with numerous publications. Her publised work includes "Zindagi ke ehsaas", "Mere Baba mera Abhimaan" and many more. Her latest offering "Aparajita" will be released soon, she is a winner of numerous awards for her selfless service to Art and the underepriviled. Ms. Seema Chatterjee, is an Advisor to Arta STUDIO, she is associated with various NGOs like Inner wheels and Red Cross. In their words, “Arta Studio is an Institute with the aim to enhance the creativity and imagination of the child by giving them wings to create their own journey”. Arta imbibes a sense of compassion and respect to all. Ms Seema told us wonderful anecdotes and how her first lesson was taking care of their house servant. There are story telling sessions and a library where the kids can read their favorite book and relax. Arta STUDIO also organises various Competitions in Tricity to encourage the budding artists.

arta organizes various workshops and cultural events along with the regular classes. Eminent Guest Invitees from various reputed colleges facilitate the out of box learning for kids, various Professors are invited to teach the students. Many guest artists who are pioneers and well respected in their field offer free workshops for kids. The whole fabric of culture is woven around Art and Compassion. The guest artists include:

Arta Studio holds classes from 4 - 6 pm, 6 days a week. The material for all the workshops are provided and the programme costs a very minimal fee of Rs 1000 per month. Students can enroll and study any Art form inlcuding Pianting, music, phonics or read a book as per their desire. The firm belief that we cannot bind a child is the thought behind this immense fleixibilty. Kids can play board games or sketch as their heart desires.
The subjects at arta:
• Art and Craft – Art is the simplest expression of Mind and Soul. Creativity evokes the feeling of joy and helps to develop the fine motor skills of children Arta Studio presents workshops on amazing techniques of Portrait Painting, oil painting, glass painting, spray painting and pot painting. The workshops are taken by professionals.
• Calligraphy – It is an art of elegance helping the child to improve their concentration and pleasure of imagination. Taught by Ms.Seema Chatterjee, an amazing guide to the young generation.
• Phonics – A new technique of learning through linking sounds of alphabets which allows the younger generation to develop a compassion for reading.
• Music Classes – Regular Music Classes for instruments like Harmonium, Tabla ,Paino and Guitar are available throughout the month from expert professionals. The student – teacher ratio is kept small to cater to the needs of all the students.
• Manners and Etiquettes - Knowledge of manners from a young age is a defining factor of someone's personality. It is given the utmost importance at arta Studio. Children are handled with care and provided the correct guidance along with counselling them for better future.
• Theatre and Mime classes - Theatre is the best way to express and emotion through actions. this activity developed the confidence and removes the stage fear of the child in an early age. It is taught by Mr.Kamaldeep , Graphic Designer, Chandigarh group of colleges. Many skits on Water conservation and Environmental awareness have been done in collaboration with various NGOs in eminent locations of tricity.
• Story telling – Children are narrated some beautiful stories by expert story tellers which inculcates the value of good or bad in them. At the Studio , they also have a Library where kids can go,read and explore the world of books.
• Excursions across Tricity - At Arta Studio, children learn while having fun. They organise various Picnics and Excursions to Rose Garden, Chatbir Zoo and Old-age Homes to let them discover the life out of the room.
• Poetry – Talents of all prospects are try to be covered in which Poetry finds a special place. It is taught by Ms.Shakuntala Mukherjee, who herself has published books on Poetry. Nobody better than her to ideate your child on Poetry!
• Child Counselling and Care – Counseling and Speaking to your child is invariably important in the Teenage. Faculty at Arta Studio provides proper guidance and warmth to your child and helps them to chose the best path for life.
Art to the Underprivileged Kids –
Every child has the right to learn, grow and express. Arta STUDIO is empowering underprivileged children by teaching them about Art, English, Reading and various other creative aspects. This engages the mind of the kid to grow witha positive outlook. This initiative taken up Arta STUDIO truly inspires us and they deserve an applause of appreciation. They conduct weekly classes of Painting, Handicrafts, Pottery and various other activities free of cost to promote Right to Education. Ms.Shakuntala shares her thoughts adding, “Art is an expression of purity which should not be maligned by the social stigmas residing in the society. This approach hopefully will be a pioneer in the Grooming of every Child. This educational centre tries their level best to bring the best version of your child out to the world.
