TiE can be aptly described as a platform to nurture young minds/entreprenuers. The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE) is a non profit organisation aimed to nurture the young minds towards the pre-requisites and challenges of entrepreneurship. The TIE was founded in 1992, in the Silicon Valley now having 13,000 members globally. They have around 20 chapters all over India of which TIE Chandigarh is a part. It has launched TYE (The Young Entrepreneurs) program towards in Chandigarh chapter to promote, guide and enhance the entrepreneurship qualities in children of grade 9 -12th.
The children in these grades have innumerable ideas, tremendous energy,zeal to succeed and grow which makes the output of the programme at this age even more productive.
The programme commenced on 25th August, 2019 with a special inaugural seminar/session at the Net Solutions Office in IT Park, Chandigarh. It was started off with the lamp - lighting ceremony by the honorable TIE members .
The seminar progressed with welcome remarks and a presentation on aim and objectives of TIE Chandigarh by Mr.Robin Aggrawal, the secretory TIE Chandigarh. He briefed the audience about the upcoming stages of the programme which would start from September 1,2019 and continue till January 1,2020. Student teams from Chandigarh will be guided and mentored to make their own prototype of a service/product which if commendable to withstand the market Competition will be selected to compete globally at the TIE Headquarter in silicon valley for a cash prize of 10,000 USD.
About 70 students from various schools in the city are enrolled in the programme. They were in attendance with their parents and were seen hobnobbing excitedly with the industry leaders.
The children heard the inspirational stories of the steering Committee members of TIE Chandigarh - Mr.Harit Mohan, CEO - Signicent LLP , Mr.Amit Singla CEO NextGen Technologies, and Ms. Ritika Singh Founder Kontent Factory. The third edition of TIE Chandigarh will cover classroom sessions having 5 theory classes and 6 practical application classes which will empower skill development in the young generation. The classroom sessions will mainly focus on the IDEAS on entrepreneurship and Preparation of their own business plan. They will focus on encountering the day to day problems and thinking of creative ideas to overcome them. The mentors and guides will show the path of materialising the idea of “ what an actual startup is” including team building, group discussions, cost calculation and presentation of a prototype.
It’s a great platform for young students as TIE has links all over the world and has collaborations with Indian School of Business, NABARD, SBI, STIPI ,Net Solutions, SNA, Graycell ,Mind Batteries and healthcare collaboration like Fortis.

THE whole programme emphasises the importance of having an idea and having the potential of converting it into a real life project.
The Programme consists of panel sessions wherein the experienced entrepreneurs will share their journey , Story sessions, Workshops ,Chat sessions to familiarise students with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

A special guest of the evening , Mr. Partap Krishan Aggrawal , Founder and managing director at IDS infotech shared his life experiences, all the peaks and valleys of his journey and the conclusion of their knowledge with the students and their parents.
Mr. Simarpreet Singh, The founder of Mind Batteries shared the steps of becoming the successful entrepreneur through his own life experience.
The seminar reached towards the end with the special thank you note by the president of TIE Chandigarh, Mr. Munish Jauhar , followed by the networking tea and snacks which gave the students and parents an opportunity to hobnob with the mentors and professional Entrepreneurs.
The amazing stories of the Committee inspired the audience emphasising on the kick-start, value of perseverance, steps to be a successful entrepreneur and making your own choice and not to stop till the goal is reached.
