TiE Chandigarh's TYE programme continues to inspire and educate our Young Entrepreneurs with an amazingly interactive parent – mentor collaborative session at the esteemed Indian School of Business (ISB). The session aimed to involve the parents to create a positive ecosystem for Education. The session started off with Pitch presentation of refined and new ideas in front of the parents who were in awe after hearing out such amazing ideas from their children. Some presentations were totally unique and some being a fine tuned version from the previous sessions with Auto – Light, Grocer - Next and Veerasat to name a few.
Business calculation is an important part of the pitch for a Start-Up, without which the Pitch is considered incomplete. To fulfill this essentially crucial understansing, TiE Chandigarh arranged a session on Startup Mathematics by Prof.Ramabhadran Thirumalai, Associate professor of Finance, Senior Associate Dean, Indian school of Business. Prof.Ram emphasized that Making Money out of the business is certainly an important factor for its sustainability. The revenues and expenses need to be evaluated and checked properly to make profit. He provided the students a good understanding of projections, which is used to foresee the future of a startup.
There can a be a lot of potential competitors in the market but for a new startup, being superiorly different and better than the competition is a drill to success. He familiarised the students with the sources of funding, it’s different stages and the evaluation processes. Becoming an entrepreneur requires one to be a constant learner. Prof.Ram guided the children about ways to measure the performance of the company regularly and how to use data statistics to succeed. The Pitch is a small yet the only source of information for the investors to know about the startup so the problem solved by the venture should be personalized. It should convey a sentiment, a story through which the audience can understand your idea. These words really intrigued the students to convey the story behind the ideas in the upcoming pitches.
As the icing on the cake, Prof. Ram interacted with the students and demonstrated and ideated the Revenue Calculation Processes which made the business calculation a lot easier. The session ended with the precious feedbacks by Ms.Ritika Singh, CEO Kontent Factory, Mr.Hitesh Kumar Gulati, Change and Organisational Development Consultant, Mr.Harit Mohan, CEO Signicent Technologies. A token of appreciation was conveyed by the honorable jury ,Mr.Munish Jauhar, CEO and Founder GrayCell Technologies and Mr.Davinder Partap Singh, TYE incharge for TiE Chandigarh to Prof.Ram for sparing his valuable time to guide our young entrepreneurs .
